Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Roll the Dough

Divide the rested dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Roll each ball into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter).

  2. 6

    Fill the Gyoza

Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half, and pinch to seal.

Cooking

  1. 7

    Pan-fry the Gyoza

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place gyoza in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  2. 8

    Steam the Gyoza

Carefully add 1 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated and gyoza are cooked through.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with dipping sauce.
