Preparation of Chicken
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). In a bowl, mix together olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Rub this mixture all over the chicken halves.

Smoking the Chicken
Place the chicken halves in the smoker, breast side up. Smoke for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Side Dish
While the chicken is smoking, prepare your chosen side dish according to its recipe.

Toast the Texas Toast
In the last 10 minutes of the chicken cooking, place the Texas toast on the grill or in the oven to toast until golden brown.

Serving
Once the chicken is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for 10 minutes. Serve the half chicken with the side dish and toasted Texas toast.
