Cake Layers
Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugar
In another large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
Add Vanilla
Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Bake the Cakes
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the Cakes
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
Make the Frosting
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the heavy cream, and beat until smooth and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Frost the Cake
Once the cake layers are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then add the second layer and repeat. Place the third layer on top and frost the entire cake.
Decoration
Decorate the Cake
Use fresh flowers or edible decorations to adorn the top and sides of the cake as desired.
