Wine Ingredients

Method

Winemaking Directions

  1. 1

    Harvesting the Grapes

Select ripe Sauvignon Blanc grapes from your vineyard or a local market. Ensure they are free from rot and damaged fruit.

  2. 2

    Crushing the Grapes

Place the grapes into a grape-crushing machine to extract the juice. Collect the juice in a clean fermentation vessel.

  3. 3

    Adding Water

Add 1 liter of clean water to the grape juice to achieve the desired dilution for fermentation.

  4. 4

    Adding Yeast

Sprinkle 10 grams of yeast evenly over the surface of the juice. Allow it to hydrate for a few minutes before stirring gently to combine.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Cover the fermentation vessel with a clean cloth, securing it with a rubber band. Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature (about 20-25°C) for 1-2 weeks or until fermentation is complete. Stir daily.

  6. 6

    Adding Sulfur Dioxide

After fermentation is complete, add 50 mg/L of sulfur dioxide to the wine to stabilize it and prevent spoilage.

  7. 7

    Adding Sugar and Acid Blend

If needed, adjust the sweetness and acidity of the wine by adding 10 grams of sugar and 5 grams of acid blend, stirring until fully dissolved.

  8. 8

    Racking the Wine

Once the wine is stable, siphon it into another clean vessel, leaving any sediment behind. This process is called racking.

  9. 9

    Bottling

Bottle the wine in sterilized bottles, ensuring to leave some space at the top. Seal the bottles with corks.

  10. 10

    Aging

Store the bottled wine in a cool, dark place for at least 3-6 months to allow the flavors to mature before tasting.
