Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Prepare Batter

Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Batter and Fry Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place in the hot oil.

  5. 5

    Fry Shrimp

Fry the shrimp in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the yellow mustard, honey, rice vinegar, and soy sauce until well combined.

  2. 8

    Adjust Sauce to Taste

Taste and adjust the sweetness with additional honey if desired.
