Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash the Romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold running water. Remove any damaged outer leaves. Pat dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Sugared Walnuts

If you don't have pre-made sugared walnuts, you can make them by toasting walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir until the sugar melts and coats the walnuts. Allow to cool before adding to the salad. Once cooled, sprinkle the sugared walnuts over the chopped Romaine lettuce in the bowl.

  3. 3

    Add Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded Parmesan cheese evenly over the lettuce and walnuts in the salad bowl.

  4. 4

    Toss with Caesar Dressing

Pour the Caesar dressing over the salad ingredients in the bowl. Using salad tongs or two large forks, gently toss everything together until the lettuce is well coated with the dressing and the walnuts and cheese are evenly distributed.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the Caesar Rodney salad immediately while it is fresh and crisp. Enjoy as a side dish or add grilled chicken for a complete meal.
