Bruschetta Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomatoes. Chop the basil leaves and combine them with the tomato mixture. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
- 2
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
- 3
Toast the Bread
Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip the slices halfway through for even toasting.
- 4
Assemble the Bruschetta
Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread. Serve immediately while the bread is warm and crispy.
