Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Mushrooms
In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add sliced mushrooms and diced onion. Sauté until the mushrooms are browned and the onions are translucent, about 8-10 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 2
Cook the Burgers
In a bowl, season ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into 4 equal patties. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and heat over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
- 3
Assemble the Burgers
Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, then add the burger patty topped with melted Swiss cheese. Pile the sautéed mushrooms on top, followed by slices of fresh tomato. Cap with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
