Fried Pickles

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle chips and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Breading

In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Dredging Process

Pour the buttermilk into a separate bowl. Dredge each pickle chip in the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture. Make sure each chip is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the breaded pickle chips in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried pickles hot with your choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side.
