Cooking Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat. Add a pinch of salt to the water.

Cook the Pasta
Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni to the boiling water. Stir occasionally and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
Making Cheese Sauce

Add Flour
Once the butter is melted, whisk in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour. Stir continuously for about 1-2 minutes to create a roux.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sauce
In the pot with the drained macaroni, pour the cheese sauce over the pasta. Stir well to combine until all the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce.

Add Topping (Optional)
If desired, mix in 1 cup of breadcrumbs and 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese for a crunchy topping.
