Kibbeh Mixture
Yogurt Sauce
Method
Prepare the Kibbeh Mixture
Soak the Bulgur
In a bowl, soak the bulgur wheat in warm water for about 30 minutes until it absorbs the water and softens. Drain any excess water and set aside.
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked bulgur wheat, ground beef, chopped onion, parsley, allspice, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Shape the Kibbeh
With wet hands, take a portion of the mixture and shape it into oval or round patties, about the size of a golf ball. Repeat until all mixture is shaped.
Make the Yogurt Sauce
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the plain yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt (to taste), and chopped fresh mint. Mix well until smooth.
Cook the Kibbeh
Cook Kibbeh
In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the shaped kibbeh patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
