Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that the batter bakes evenly.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Baking

Prepare the Baking Dish
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the dish for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
