Method
Prepare the Octopus
- 1
Clean the Octopus
Rinse the octopus under cold water, removing any visible debris or ink. Use a sharp knife to cut off the beak and remove the eyes.
- 2
Boil the Octopus
In a large pot of salted water, bring to a boil. Add the cleaned octopus and reduce to a simmer. Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until tender. Remove from heat and let cool.
- 3
Marinate the Octopus
In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Once the octopus is cool, cut it into smaller pieces, add to the marinade, and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Grill the Octopus
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 5
Prepare the Mixed Greens
- 6
Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and thinly sliced red onion.
- 7
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.
Serve
- 8
Plate the Dish
Serve the grilled octopus alongside the mixed greens salad on a plate. Optionally, garnish with additional lemon wedges and herbs.
