Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread and allow it to soak for about 15 minutes. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  4. 4

    Bake

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Prepare Whiskey Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of butter, add 1/2 cup of whiskey, and stir until combined. Keep warm until serving.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm with a drizzle of whiskey butter sauce and a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
