Beer Battered Cheese Curds

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beer Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and well combined.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Coat the Cheese Curds

Dip each cheese curd into the beer batter, ensuring it is completely coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully drop the battered cheese curds into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the sriracha sauce and honey until well combined. This will create a sweet and spicy dipping sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the beer battered cheese curds hot with the sweet and spicy sriracha dipping sauce and ranch dressing on the side.
