Pie Crust and Filling
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Pie Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a store-bought pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish. If making from scratch, roll out the dough and fit it into the dish. Crimp the edges and set aside.
- 2
Mix the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt until well combined. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Pour and Bake
Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared pie crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- 4
Cool and Serve
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour before slicing. Serve warm or chilled, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
