Falafel Ingredients
Method
Falafel Directions
- 1
Prepare the Mixture
In a food processor, combine canned chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms.
- 2
Add Flour
Transfer the chickpea mixture to a bowl and mix in the all-purpose flour. Adjust the consistency if needed by adding more flour or a little water.
- 3
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the mixture firm up.
- 4
Form Patties
Once chilled, take a tablespoon of the mixture and form it into small patties or balls.
- 5
- 6
Fry the Falafel
Carefully add the formed patties to the hot oil, frying them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the falafel from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or in pita bread with vegetables.
