Burger Preparation
1. Prepare the Beef Patties
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form two equal patties, about 4 ounces each.
2. Cook the Patties
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
3. Melt the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of aged cheddar on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
4. Toast the Buns
In the same skillet, toast the brioche buns cut-side down for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
5. Assemble the Burger
Spread a generous amount of red onion jam on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, and cover with the top half of the bun.
6. Serve
Serve the burgers with a side of fries.
