Method

Waffle Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Waffle Maker

Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook Waffle Churros

Pour enough batter into the preheated waffle maker to cover the surface. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the waffle maker and let cool slightly.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 6

    Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 7

    Coat Waffle Churros

While the waffle churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Caramel Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

    Make Caramel Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and cook until it melts and turns a golden brown color.

  2. 9

    Add Cream and Butter

Carefully add the heavy cream and butter to the melted sugar, stirring constantly until combined and smooth.

  3. 10

    Finish with Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly before serving.
