Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the NY Strip steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet, cover it loosely with foil, and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Eggs

  1. 5

    Prepare the Eggs

In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Cook the Eggs

Crack the eggs into the skillet and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 3 minutes.

  3. 7

    Plate the Eggs

Remove the eggs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Home Fries

  1. 8

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into small cubes.

  2. 9

    Cook the Potatoes

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.

  3. 10

    Add Potatoes

Add the cubed potatoes to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and stir well. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and cooked through.
