Chili Base

Method

Chili Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add Brisket and Spices

Stir in the smoked brisket, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the spices to coat the brisket and vegetables.

  3. 3

    Combine with Beans and Tomatoes

Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth to the pot. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  4. 4

    Cook the Chili

Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow the flavors to meld together.

Serving

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the chili is cooking, prepare the toppings by shredding cheddar cheese, chopping green onions, and gathering sour cream and tortilla strips.

  2. 6

    Serve the Chili

Once the chili is ready, ladle it into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, tortilla strips, and chopped green onions.
