Optional Toppings

Method

Preparing Mac & Cheese

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk together for about 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Continue to cook the sauce, stirring frequently, until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until well coated. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a splash more of milk to reach your desired consistency.

Preparing Fries

  1. 5

    Bake the Fries

Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen fries. Spread the fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 6

    Season the Fries

Sprinkle salt over the fries before baking.

  3. 7

    Cooking Time

Bake the fries in the preheated oven, following the package instructions until golden and crispy, usually around 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve the macaroni and cheese alongside the crispy fries. Add optional toppings like crushed red pepper flakes or chopped green onions if desired.
