Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the egg and then mix in the buttermilk and melted butter until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

Cooking Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Griddle

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 6

    Prepare the Plate

Stack the pancakes on a plate. Arrange the bacon strips in a smile shape on top of the pancakes.

  2. 7

    Add Whipped Cream

Use whipped cream to create a happy face on the pancakes. You can use dollops for eyes and a smile.

  3. 8

    Add Mini Roostart

Place a mini Roostart on the side of the pancakes for a fun addition.
