Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine dry ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the butter and sugars
In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking

Scoop the dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
