Method
Pancake Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted unsalted butter until smooth.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Prepare to Cook
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
- 5
Cook Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 6
Keep Warm
Transfer cooked pancakes to a plate and keep warm while you finish cooking the remaining batter.
Topping Preparation
- 7
Cook Bacon
In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 8
Assemble Pancakes
Stack the pancakes on a plate. Top with crispy bacon strips and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
- 9
Optional Toppings
If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips and add fresh fruit on top of the whipped cream for additional flavor and decoration.
