Method
Fried Twinkies
- 1
Prepare the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 2
Batter the Twinkies
Dip each Twinkie into the Belgian waffle batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 3
Fry the Twinkies
Carefully place the battered Twinkies into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
House-made Strawberry Sauce
- 4
Prepare the Strawberries
Wash and hull the fresh strawberries. Cut them into halves or quarters depending on preference.
- 5
Cook the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries have softened and released their juices.
- 6
Blend the Sauce
If desired, blend the mixture for a smoother consistency, or keep it chunky. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
