Method
Crab Cakes
- 1
Prepare Crab Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
- 2
Form Crab Cakes
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions (about 5 oz each) and shape each portion into a patty. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Fry the Crab Cakes
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Chipotle Aioli
- 4
Make the Aioli
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, chipotle peppers, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste, then set aside.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the brioche buns in half and lightly toast them if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato, and then top with a crab cake. Drizzle with chipotle aioli and cover with the top half of the bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve the crab cake sandwiches alongside seasoned fries for a complete meal.
