Crab Cakes

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, egg, bread crumbs, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties, about 3 inches in diameter. Place them on a lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Old Bay Slaw

  1. 4

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well mixed.

  2. 5

    Chill the Slaw

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

House-Made Tartar Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix the mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, fresh dill, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 7

    Chill the Sauce

Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavor.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 8

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, add the quartered russet potatoes and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes.

  2. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

In the same pot, add the minced garlic, butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth and creamy.
