Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that the bacon cooks evenly and becomes crispy.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Mix the Sugar and Spices

In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.

  4. 4

    Coat the Bacon

Take each strip of bacon and dip it into the sugar mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. Shake off any excess sugar.

  5. 5

    Arrange Bacon on the Rack

Place the coated bacon strips on the wire rack in a single layer. Make sure the strips do not overlap to ensure even cooking.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Bake the Bacon

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

  2. 7

    Cool the Bacon

Once done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the bacon cool on the wire rack for a few minutes. The bacon will continue to harden as it cools.

  3. 8

    Serve

Once cooled, serve the candied bacon as a delicious appetizer, snack, or topping for other dishes.
