Waffle Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- 2
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently just until combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- 5
Cook Waffles
Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1 cup, but this may vary based on your waffle maker). Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, typically 5-7 minutes.
Topping Preparation
- 6
Whip Cream
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- 7
Prepare Berries
Wash and dry the fresh berries. If using strawberries, hull and slice them as needed.
- 8
Assemble Waffles
Once the waffles are cooked, top each waffle with a handful of chocolate chips and a dollop of whipped cream or a generous serving of fresh berries and whipped cream.
