Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- 2
- 3
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your Belgian waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 5
Cook the Waffles
Pour the batter into the preheated waffle maker, using about 1 cup of batter for each waffle (or according to your waffle maker's recommendations). Close the waffle maker and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
- 6
Keep Warm
Transfer the cooked waffles to a plate and keep warm in a low oven while you finish cooking the remaining waffles.
Bourbon Butter Preparation
- 7
Prepare the Bourbon Butter
In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and bourbon. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
- 8
Serve
Spoon the bourbon butter onto the warm waffles just before serving.
