Method

Prepare the French Toast

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Slice the Bananas

Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into thin rounds.

  3. 3

    Mix in the Walnuts

Add the sliced bananas and chopped walnuts to the egg mixture, stirring gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Dip the Bread

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Dip each slice of sourdough bread into the banana-walnut egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.

  5. 5

    Cook the French Toast

Place the coated bread slices onto the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for cooking.

Prepare the Whipped Cream

  1. 6

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the French Toast

Once the French toast is cooked, stack 2 slices on a plate.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Top each slice with a generous dollop of whipped cream and garnish with fresh strawberries.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your Peacock French Toast!
