Fried Pickles
Ranch Dipping Sauce
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickles from their brine and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help achieve maximum crispiness.
- 2
Create the Breading Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 3
Prepare the Buttermilk
In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk and set it aside.
- 4
- 5
Bread the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Then, dredge the pickles in the breading mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- 6
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the breaded pickles into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice until smooth and well combined.
- 9
Chill the Sauce
Cover the ranch dipping sauce and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
