Apple Juice

Method

Apple Juice

  1. 1

    Chill and prepare

If using fresh apples, chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before juicing for the best flavor. If using store-bought juice, ensure it is well chilled. Prepare ice, a fresh mint sprig, and an apple slice for garnish.

  2. 2

    Optional: Make simple syrup

If you prefer your apple juice sweeter, combine equal parts sugar and hot water (for this recipe 1 tsp sugar + 1 tsp hot water). Stir until sugar dissolves, then cool briefly. (Skip if not using.)

  3. 3

    Mix drink

Fill a 16 oz glass about halfway with ice cubes (about 4 standard cubes). Pour 16 oz of chilled apple juice over the ice. Add 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice if using to brighten the flavor and 1 tsp simple syrup if you want extra sweetness. Stir gently with a spoon to combine.

  4. 4

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with one fresh apple slice on the rim and a small mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon.
