    Rinse the Edamame

    Place the edamame pods in a colander and rinse them under cold running water to remove any dirt. Set aside.

    Boil Water

    In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

    Add Salt

    Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt to the pot.

Cooking

    Cook the Edamame

    Add the rinsed edamame pods to the boiling water. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the pods are bright green and tender.

    Drain the Edamame

    After cooking, drain the edamame in the colander and allow them to cool slightly.

    Season (Optional)

    If desired, sprinkle garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and drizzle with sesame oil over the cooked edamame before serving. Toss to coat evenly.
