Pasta and Sauce
Method
Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
While the pasta is cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir well to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 4
Add Cheese and Season
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 5
Toss the Pasta
Once the fettuccini is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Add the fettuccini to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired sauce consistency.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish. Serve immediately while hot.
