Method

Creamed Kale

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kale

Wash the kale thoroughly under running water. Remove the tough stems and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Cook the Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. 3

    Add the Kale

Add the prepared kale to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until wilted.

  4. 4

    Make the Cream Sauce

Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and stir in 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve the creamed kale warm.

Biscuits

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  3. 8

    Cut in Butter

Cut 1 stick of cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 9

    Add Milk

Gradually stir in 3/4 cup of milk until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 10

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut out biscuits with a round cutter.

  6. 11

    Bake

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 12

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with the creamed kale.
