Method

Biscuits Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures that the biscuits will rise properly and develop a golden-brown color.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Cut the unsalted butter into small cubes and add them to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to incorporate the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine the milk and honey. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough 2-3 times until it comes together. Pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.

  6. 6

    Cut the Biscuits

Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out biscuits from the dough. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are close but not touching.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

  8. 8

    Serve with Honey Butter

Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with Vermont honey butter.
