Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the chicken
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and black pepper.

Set up breading station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese.

Bread the chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.

Cook the chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.
Assembling and Baking

Add marinara and cheese
Pour marinara sauce evenly over the cooked chicken breasts. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh basil before serving.
