Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef Patties

Form the Maine beef into two quarter-pound patties. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the Kaiser buns in a separate pan or in the oven until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a burger patty with melted cheese, followed by a generous amount of caramelized onions and dill pickles. Add the crispy bacon on top, then place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
