Pork Filling
Method
Dumpling Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the water while stirring until the mixture forms a dough.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- 3
Rest the Dough
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Pork Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Assembling and Cooking Dumplings
- 5
Roll Out the Dough
After resting, roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use a round cutter to cut out circles (about 3 inches in diameter).
- 6
Fill the Dumplings
Place a teaspoon of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
- 7
Steam the Dumplings
Prepare a steamer pot and bring water to a boil. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Steam for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through.
- 8
Serve
Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
