Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until combined. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 3
Preheat the Griddle
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
- 4
Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the hot griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 5
Serve
Serve the pancakes warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
