Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and let it cool. Once cooled, stir in the dark rum or coffee liqueur.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolks until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 5
Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture and then spread the remaining mascarpone mixture over the top.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
