Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, gently mix the Certified Angus Beef ground beef with kosher salt and black pepper until evenly combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Flatten each ball into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Chill the Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure that the cooking surface is well-oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Once the grill or skillet is hot, add the chilled patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Buns

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns. Place them butter-side down on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden and toasted.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Slice the tomato and place on top of the cheese, followed by pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  2. 7

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled ingredients. Press down gently to secure the burger.
