Potatoes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it's hot enough for crispy chips.

  2. 2

    Wash and Cut Potatoes

Thoroughly wash the Russet potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick, leaving the skins on for extra flavor and texture.

  3. 3

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the potato slices in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier chips.

  4. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the water and lay the potato slices on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Pat them dry thoroughly to remove excess moisture.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Coat the Potatoes

In a large bowl, combine the dried potato slices with olive oil, sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss until the potato slices are evenly coated.

  2. 6

    Arrange on Baking Sheets

Spread the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are not overlapping to ensure even cooking.

  3. 7

    Bake the Chips

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove the chips from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet. Serve warm or at room temperature.
