Chill the Coated Sticks
Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while frying.

Finish the Sauce
Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving. Remove from heat and set aside.
Frying the Mozzarella Sticks

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully place the frozen mozzarella sticks into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
