Beef Patty

Bacon and Caramelized Onions

Secret Sauce

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook Bacon and Onions

  1. 3

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain the excess fat.

  2. 4

    Caramelize Onions

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onion and cook slowly until they are translucent and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are nicely browned.

Make the Secret Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and hot sauce until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cook the Beef Patties

  1. 6

    Grill or Pan-Fry

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

Spread the secret sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked beef patty on top, followed by the caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
