Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Cheese Sauce Preparation
- 3
- 4
Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Add Cheese
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese and cream cheese until melted and smooth. Add ground mustard, paprika, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- 6
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and stir until all the pasta is coated evenly.
Pretzel Pole Preparation
- 7
Shape the Pretzel Pole
Take the store-bought pretzel dough and shape it into a long pole, about 1 inch thick and 12 inches long.
- 8
Bake the Pretzel Pole
Preheat the oven according to the dough instructions. Place the pretzel pole on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Bake until golden brown, usually about 15-20 minutes.
