Korean Fried Chicken

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

Add the chicken wings to the dry mixture and toss until they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the coated chicken wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a saucepan, combine gochujang, honey, and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat, stirring until well combined and heated through.

  6. 6

    Toss the Chicken

In a large bowl, toss the fried chicken wings with the sweet and spicy gochujang sauce until well coated.

  7. 7

    Garnish

Serve the chicken topped with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
