Method

Pork

1

Prepare and Cook the Pork

Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place the pork in a slow cooker, add apple cider vinegar and water. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily.

Hoe Cake

2

Make the Hoe Cake

In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter. Combine both mixtures and stir until just combined. Heat a skillet over medium heat, pour in batter to form cakes, and cook until golden brown on both sides.

GoGo BBQ Sauce

3

Prepare the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and hot sauce. Simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Soup Beans

4

Cook the Soup Beans

Rinse the dried pinto beans and place them in a pot with water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours or until beans are tender.

Vinegar Slaw

5

Make the Vinegar Slaw

Shred the cabbage and grate the carrot. In a bowl, mix apple cider vinegar, sugar, and salt. Add shredded cabbage and carrot, tossing to coat. Let sit for at least 30 minutes before serving.
